More than 1000 blockchain companies, supporting around 6000 jobs, have been set in Switzerland. The financial industry is also getting more and more involved in crypto-banking. Switzerland’s first crypto awards are intended to honor innovative investment products and first-class crypto solutions, but also to recognize people or institutions that have done extraordinary things for Switzerland.

Mona El Isa is Co-founder and CEO of Avantgarde Finance Ltd. She was formerly the co-founder and CEO of Melonport AG which developed Melon, the first full featured on-chain asset management protocol. Mona is a former market maker and prop trader who spent 8 years at Goldman Sachs, promoted to Vice President by the age of 26 and made the “top 30 under 30” list twice in 2008 with Trader Magazine and in 2011 with Forbes after profitably trading the crashes. She went on to run a long-short equity fund for several years before becoming frustrated with the state of asset management infrastructure which lead her towards conceptualizing Melon. Today, she serves on the Board of Directors to MAMA, Near Protocol and Midas Technologies.
